We committed to fostering Daisy just one hour before she was set to be euthanized. She tugged at our heart strings the moment we met her. She was left in the home her family moved out of, infested with fleas, had a hematoma on her ear and several skin rashes. With the help of Country Roads Animal Rescue we were able to get her all fixed up & ready for adoption.
I received an email a month or so after she had been available for adoption that a sweet family was interested in meeting her. At first I was so sad. I was very attached, so attached that when her foster dad would fall asleep I would sneak her on the bed with me. *he was allergic to her lol*
I took her to meet her soon-to-be new family & fell in love with their story. They had a baby named Rhett who needed a calm and sweet companion. From the moment she met Rhett I could tell she would fit right in. Our goodbye came about a week after and was very bittersweet.
Fast forward to today - Rhett and Daisy are best friends. Their mom says Rhett loves her and she is so patient with him. When she’s over it, she just gets up and walks away. She shares her toys, Rhett really needs his own Kong if they are being 100% honest! She loves evening walks, and meal time is her fav!! She is always sure to pick up all the extra food that he has thrown on the floor for her enjoyment. He leans over in his chair so she can lick sticky toddler fingers. She is the perfect addition to our family!
My heart is so warmed knowing by taking a month to help this sweet shelter lady get back to good health, her whole life turned around.
